In Prempoint all smart keys you create must be assigned to Prempoint users. However, you may come across residents that either don't want to sign up for an account or do not use smartphones. In this case you have a couple options:
- If the resident has an email address, add that email to the unit in Prempoint. They will receive an invite email but they don't have to actually join. This gives you a "user" to assign fobs to and you'll still know exactly who owns the fob.
- Create an email address at your company to be used to assign resident fobs, such as "resident@mycompany.com". Then, follow the same steps outlined in #1 above.
PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT recommended to create a manager fob under one of your group users and then give that fob to a resident. Manager fobs are not subject to certain restrictions like "Resident Hours" (restricting when residents can access a common door via fob or mobile).
